Duties

  • You will support day-to-day direction, guidance, and performance of the Test and Evaluation program, including representing Test and Evaluation at IPT meetings, task tracking for the Test and Evaluation WIPT, and interfacing with program management.
  • You will support the Assistant Program Manager for Test and Evaluation (APMTE) and associated Lead Test Engineers (LTE) with planning, directing, and controlling activities of the assigned IPTs within NAWCTSD.
  • You will assist with the technical management of a professional force of test technicians and systems experts up to the GS-13 grade level.
  • You will serve as Test Director at multiple development sites and Naval Air Station Training sites, and will evaluate capability of training systems to fulfill mission operation requirements by executing test plans.
  • You will lead a group of engineers and other support personnel through the test event.
  • You will perform as a Lead Test Engineer, overseeing and directing the day-to-day technical activities of one or more assigned lower, or same-grade, test engineers.
  • You will provide input to immediate supervisor relative to the technical performance of the assigned test engineers.

  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2, level 3 within 12 months of appointment.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
