Description:
The Funds Management Specialist exists to provide financial support and budgetary services to an office or department within the Museum.
In this position, you will:
- Provide assistance to leadership, under close supervision, in all operations of the unit, and those in association with the Museum, Smithsonian, or scientific community, financial and administration support for unit research programs, budget preparation and allocation, requests and justifications, etc.
- Create basic budget, spending plans, and projections on various funds ranging from Federal allocations to a variety of trust funds (grants, contracts, gifts, endowments, discretionary).
- Maintain accountability records for funds control of the various financial matters relating to the work of the unit.
- Provide guidance to department staff on administrative and procurement procedures and required documentation.
- Serve as liaison between leadership and other Smithsonian administrative offices in performance of administrative and fiscal duties.
