Description:
You will be gathering and analyzing information regarding all aspects of hedge fund investments, strategies, and managers. You will be involved in due diligence, portfolio monitoring, and conducting industry studies.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the key resource in the research group for fund-of-funds investments. In collaboration with colleagues, develop opinions on fund managers and markets through ongoing qualitative and quantitative research and analysis.
- Analyze opportunities and managers, in terms of organization, investment strategy, performance, fund terms, current portfolio positions, and other key attributes.
- Create customized monthly, quarterly and annual client reporting.
- Lead reference calls with industry participants.
- Monitor market trends and contribute to periodic market updates.
- Serve as a resource to colleagues seeking current information on fund-of-funds investment opportunities, including data and analysis, comparisons across managers.
- Performing comprehensive analysis on investment opportunities including working extensively with Excel, modeling fund performance, and in evaluating overall performance by examining underlying portfolio investments.
- Manage and maintain the CRM system to track managers in the market.
- Monitor portfolio of investments and preparing portfolio progress reports.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of full-time hedge fund investment research due diligence experience within a hedge fund, fund of funds, family office, or investment bank
- Strong Excel skills and solid base in accounting and finance
- Bachelors Degree completed - classwork and/or a minor in computer science and/or mathematics is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and time-sensitive deliverables with a high degree of quality and accuracy
- Experience with commodities markets preferred
- Team player with a desire and flexibility to move across various functions within the qualitative and quantitative manager due diligence functions
- Series 3 license, or ability to complete within 3-6 months of employment
