Full-time Senior Pastor

First Baptist Church of Ahoskie, North Carolina, is seeking a full-time Senior Pastor to lead a multi-generational congregation with a rich 220-year history. This position requires a strong spiritual leader who will honor traditions while guiding the church into the future.

With 250 resident members and a growing number of young families and children, FBC Ahoskie values long-tenured leadership (only eight pastors in the past 100 years) and seeks a pastor who will provide stability and visionary spiritual guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Preaching & Worship Leadership

• Deliver dynamic and engaging sermons that inspire spiritual growth.

• Lead traditional worship services that incorporate music as a key element.

• Provide biblically grounded teaching that strengthens faith and community.

2. Congregational Leadership & Development

• Assess and enhance staffing and governance structures to serve the church effectively.

• Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members.

• Encourage the involvement of young families and children in church activities.

3. Pastoral Care & Spiritual Guidance

• Offer pastoral care and counseling to congregation members.

• Provide spiritual support in times of crisis, grief, or personal struggles.

• Engage in community outreach and service efforts.

4. Church Growth & Community Engagement

• Strengthen partnerships with Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF) and CBFNC.

• Support the affirmation of women in ministry in leadership and ordained roles.

• Develop initiatives to expand the church’s reach within Ahoskie and beyond.

• Strong communication and preaching abilities.

• A heart for pastoral care and discipleship.

• Experience in church leadership, administration, and governance.

• A passion for mentoring staff, lay leaders, and congregants.

• Commitment to upholding traditional worship while fostering growth.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary: $75,000 - $105,000 per year (based on experience).
