Duties
Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:
- Plan, schedule, organize, direct, supervise, coordinate and perform complex fire protection designs and technical reviews.
- Direct, coordinate, and review fire protection design work and technical studies contracted to Architect-Engineer (A-E) firms and research organizations.
- Direct the review and approval of all fire protection system test plans.
- Manage the life-cycle cost analysis with the objective of evaluation and ranking design alternative with regard to overall economy.
- Brief high levels of staff elements on fire protection systems for the purposes of coordination and facilitation of program execution.

- May be required to successfully complete a probationary/trial period
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment

- This position is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing
- This position may be subject to the DoD Priority Placement Program
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
- Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually in accordant with DoD Directive 5500-7-R. Joint Ethics Regulation dated 29 November 2007
- Incumbent may be subject to some Temporary Duty (TDY) travel
- Position is designated as MISSION ESSENTIAL: employees may be required to report for, or remain at, work in dismissal or closure situation due to adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, or other emergency situations
- MISSION ESSENTIAL employees are required to maintain contact with their supervisor during any dismissal or closure situation unless specifically excused by their supervisor
