Description:
Requirements: At least 5 years experience managing grants and finances (at least 2 years in the non-profit space) Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's degree preferred) This individual will play a crucial role in managing the growing portfolio of grants (currently 15 active), ensuring integrity of all financial transactions and reporting in the context of grant awards. This position reports to the Director of Finance and currently does not have direct reports.
Duties
Grants Management - Financial:
- Prepare, manage and revise grant budgets and forecasts; initiate requests and provide information for budget revisions or amendment requests
- Review grant proposal cost justification
- Monitor and track grant expenditures ensuring compliance with grant guidelines, and budget allocations
- Review financial transactions allocated to grant awards to ensure reasonableness, consistent treatment, and availability of funds
- Prepare and submit funding agency invoices and track status
Grants Management - Compliance
- Prepare, complete, submit and ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial and close-out reports in assigned grant portfolio
- Support internal and external audits related to grant-funded projects, providing necessary documentation and explanations as required
Monitor Subawards
- Ensure subrecipient monitoring procedures are compliant with federal and other applicable regulations
- Monitor subrecipient compliance with federal regulations and the requirements of their subrecipient agreements through site visits, audits, and other mechanisms applicable to subrecipient monitoring
What You Need for this Position
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Highly proficient in Excel
- Experience managing grants and nonprofit finances
- Knowledgeable in grant regulations, compliance, and grant reporting requirements
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines within time constraints and manage multiple projects
