Finance Supervisor

UVA Finance is looking for an individual to oversee a team of three Workday analysts and architects responsible for configuration and maintenance of spend-related Workday functionality. In addition, this person themselves, will also be responsible for configuration, maintenance, development and deployment of Workday solutions. This person will be a people leader (hire/fire authority) with majority of time spent overseeing their areas of responsibility. Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of a support, production or operations team. Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion. Coordinates work activities with other supervisors. Decisions and problem-solving are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance and oversight from manager.

The Finance job family supports the management of the university financial operations and develops and implements effective finance administration strategies for the university for staff in accordance with university policy, practice and objectives. Responsible for processing and maintaining information within Workday. Produces statistical summaries and special reports from Workday. Maintains the integrity of data and ensures the most efficient and cost-effective systems and applications. May assist in the development of systems specifications, design and development from the end user perspective. Continually monitors Finance information needs to meet changing requirements.

Reporting to the Director of Finance Systems, will have responsibility for the successful implementation, integration, and customization of Workday Finance applications and updates from initiation to production. Successful candidates will have business process architect experience gathering requirements, designing, delivering, and supporting business using Workday in areas and modules in Workday Finance, including but not limited to Procurement, Supplier Accounts, Expenses and Banking and Settlement. Experience in varying modules will be considered as well.
