What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Human Resources

  • Support the recruitment and onboarding of new CU Staff (Research Faculty, Research Affiliates, Tenure Track Faculty, Classified, Temporary, University Staff & Students), and NREL Joint Appointments. Create and implement effective processes for onboarding new employees into the unit.
  • Interpret and implement HR policies and practices for compliance with campus and university requirements.
  • Serve as the RASEI HR representative on staff search committees to ensure inclusive practices and consistency in hiring.
  • Manage position updates and end-of-appointment transactions, including final vacation payouts) within the HR software system.
  • Manage payroll funding distribution for sponsored projects and all staff. Verify, upload, and approve bi-weekly payroll.
  • Annually audits the performance management cycle compliance and merit roster.
  • Manage immigration/VISA processing and renewal for Research Faculty.

Financial Management

  • Prepare annual general fund budget reports and review and forecast budgets for all accounts. Prepare a monthly budget report for all fund types: reconciling revenue and expenses, and identifying the need for any correcting journal entries and payroll expense transfers.
  • Leads compliance with GASB principles of accounting, federal, state and university fiscal rules through audit and analysis of financial transactions. Perform internal audits to identify errors or abnormal balances on financial statements.
  • Coordinate fiscal year-end activities, maintaining compliance with CU regulations and timelines.
  • Approves CU Marketplace procurement requisitions, purchase orders and vendor payments. Approves expense and reimbursement reports for staff.
  • Provide pre-award sponsored project budget support.
  • Build new ChartField account requests per RASEI programming needs.
  • Annually review the campus DA-ICR report. Direct communication with other departments/institutes regarding ICR splits. Manage and assess CU systems to make sure MOUs are current and ICR splits are accurate.

  • What We Would Like You to Have

  • Graduate degree.
  • 5 years of finance, accounting and/or HR administration experience.
