Field Service Technician

Description:

Holman, a globally recognized family-owned automotive services organization, is looking for a Field Service Technician to join their expert team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work onsite servicing and repairing truck-mounted equipment on railroad service vehicles.

As a Field Service Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring specialized vehicle equipment is operating safely and efficiently. Your work will directly contribute to keeping essential railroad operations running smoothly. Holman offers a Monday to Friday schedule with no weekends, as well as excellent benefits and a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cover an assigned geographical service area using a company vehicle
• Communicate directly with customers to understand and diagnose equipment issues
• Perform necessary repairs and modifications on truck-mounted equipment, including:
  • Cranes
  • Hydraulics
  • Rail conversion equipment
  • Winches
  • Aftermarket electrical components
• Accurately estimate time and materials required for repairs
• Apply problem-solving skills in situations requiring minimal supervision
• Provide feedback and suggestions to improve vehicle designs and service processes

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to pass a DOT physical
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on mechanical experience
• Ability to operate within a 100 air mile radius
• Strong automotive troubleshooting skills
• Preferred knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and pneumatics
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals
• Experience with welding and cutting torch preferred
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude

Pay Information:

• Starting pay ranges from $25 to $35 per hour based on experience
• Equivalent monthly pay: approximately $4,333 to $6,066 per month
• Additional $5,000 sign-on bonus
