Description:
As Field Operations Consultant, you will provide proactive support to Uptown Cheapskate and Kid to Kid franchisees in BaseCamp’s roster of franchises. You will meet with franchisees regularly to analyze results, provide strategic advice, and formulate action plans to boost store-level performance. A key aspect of the role will be to develop relationships with franchisees and maintain an open line of communication between BaseCamp and individual stores. Your specific responsibilities will include:
- Actively supporting 30-50 Uptown Cheapskate and Kid to Kid stores with the aim of maximizing their profitability, manageability, and growth
- Maintaining a firm grasp of the operational and financial performance of each store, regularly reviewing reports and distilling insights into concrete action plans
- Frequently communicating with franchisees to help them understand and operationalize BaseCamp initiatives, as well as to collect feedback
- Spending 20-40% of your time in the field, visiting each store at least once per year to provide on-site support and lead performance reviews with franchisees
- Actively collaborating with other members of BaseCamp’s Operations team, meeting regularly to trade perspectives on opportunities and challenges across the system
- Contributing to BaseCamp’s Annual Meeting, which brings together franchisees from both concepts
- Completing special projects and thinking creatively about new ways to improve our systems, brands, technology, and support to stores
What Are We Looking For?
- Based in the Salt Lake City, UT area
- Ideally, 5+ years of experience managing retail locations and/or providing direct operational support (franchise experience a plus but not required)
- Substantial experience working with financial statements and inventory management
- Strong communication skills with an ability to provide clear and effective direction
- Passion for collaborating with entrepreneurs to enhance business performance
- Team-first, flexible mindset
- Highly organized and responsive, with a very strong attention to detail
- Facility with all Microsoft 365 programs (especially Excel) and Google Workspace
