Description:
Toyota’s Environmental and Facilities Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Project Engineer.
This role's primary responsibility is managing construction projects (expansions, renovations, greenfield, etc.) at North American production plants.
The person in this role will support the Environmental and Facilities department's objective to provide project management, construction, and building design. This is to ensure projects are designed and built to quality, cost, schedule, and safety KPIs for North American manufacturing plants.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop criteria (mechanical, electrical, fire protection, civil/structural, etc.) for the design of buildings.
- Provide technical support to North American Manufacturing plants in building design and construction, including the development and maintenance of building-related standards.
- Act as subject matter expert for industrial buildings and building related systems as technical support for local facility groups at each site and for submittals during project management.
- Provide experience in plant planning project management, construction, and building design to ensure projects are designed and built to quality, cost, schedule, and safety KPIs.
- Mentor engineers, construction coordinators, and other project personnel to increase their skillset in industrial construction.
- Create customer satisfaction with proper communication and consensus with the customer to support their needs.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering
- Experience with building review and construction, including drawing / process review and management of actual construction
- Experience with industrial buildings and building related systems such as power distribution, chilled water, compressed air, and HVAC
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Project to manage construction schedule
- Ability to work up to 20% overtime when required
- Ability to travel up to 75% (based on project need) when required (US, Canada, and Mexico)
