Description:
Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:
- Serves as an expert adviser on external communications-related matters for DPAA.
- Assists in resolving external communications-related issues, concerns, and assistance requests received from POW-MIA constituencies, American active-duty service members, the U.S. Congress, the American public, special interest groups, and non-federal entities on Department of the Defense (DoD) POW/MIA policy issues.
- Reviews, analyzes, and interprets proposed POW/MIA policies and strategies as they relate to external agencies.
- Provides logistical support for meetings with families of the missing, to include production and packaging of material; facilitates and manages site registration operations; manages attendance data gathering and develops and provides timely data comparison/analysis.
- Prepares and drafts written responses to requests for information on the POW/MIA issues from the general public, to include families of missing personnel, key stakeholders, and concerned citizens.
- Prepares, complies with, and maintains comprehensive administrative control of all inquiries, reports, documents, files, papers, databases, records, fact sheets and communication plans.
