Description:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages and monitors the execution of multiple concurrent exhibitions assuring that commitments and deliverables meet museum’s requirements.
- Manages the project development process to identify and correct weaknesses in critical performance parameters and variances in achieving costs, schedule, and performance goals.
- Develops and promulgates appropriate and specific work plans (schedules, budgets, cash flow requirements, procurement timelines, etc.) to accomplish assigned projects.
- Establishes appropriate milestones for required internal and external reviews so that assigned projects obtain necessary approvals to maintain schedule and participates in these reviews.
- Provides day-to-day coordination and management of assigned projects, provides technical leadership and expert staff assistance and responsible for allocating and managing resources required to accomplish the work.
- Develops and manages comprehensive project budgets and works closely with NMAA’s financial team and other teams to track exhibition costs.
- Assists with the development of muti-year exhibition program budget, development and refinement of project approval and implementation policies, procedures, tools, and resources.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Experience required for this position is as follows:
- Familiarity with exhibition project management principles and methods or related experience in a museum environment or in a related field.
- Knowledge of project planning (i.e., functions, concepts, tools, etc.,).
- Superior ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
- Knowledge of financial principles in areas such as contracting and/or procurement, budget, information management.
- Ability and experience with complex problem solving, building consensus, and resolving conflicts, to move a project forward.
- Experience with standard business and teleconferencing applications: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Zoom, Cloud-based file sharing such as OneDrive, SharePoint, and Dropbox, etc.
