Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the organization’s strategic plan, ensuring alignment with its mission and community needs. Provide vision and direction for the organization, fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture.
- Community Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, stakeholders, and partner organizations. Facilitate community forums, workshops, and outreach initiatives to gather input and amplify marginalized voices.
- Program Development: Oversee the design and implementation of programs that address social, racial, LGBT, and environmental justice issues. Ensure programs are accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of the communities served
- Fundraising and Resource Development: Lead fundraising efforts, including grant writing, donor cultivation, and developing revenue-generating programs. Identify and secure funding opportunities to enhance the organization’s capacity and sustainability.
- Advocacy & Policy Influence: Represent the organization in local, regional, and national forums to advocate for policies that promote justice and equity. Collaborate with advocacy networks to amplify the voices of marginalized communities.
- Financial & Operational Oversight: Manage the organization’s budget, ensuring financial health and sustainability. o Oversee administrative functions and human resources, promoting a diverse and equitable workplace.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in a related field such as social work, public administration, or nonprofit management.
- Minimum of five years of experience in nonprofit management, social justice advocacy, or community organizing.
- Proven success in fundraising and grant writing, with an established network of funders.
- Deep understanding of social, racial, LGBTQIA+, and environmental justice issues.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to navigate complex community dynamics and foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
- Experience working with marginalized communities and a commitment to equity and inclusion
