Executive Director

 

Description:

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Executive Director to lead our operations, outreach, and financial sustainability. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with a passion for driving organizational growth, fostering innovation, and advancing operational efficiency within the animal health sector. This role requires a strong blend of leadership, operational expertise, and a commitment to driving positive impact through effective management practices. The Executive Director reports directly to the President.

 

Responsibilities

 

Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and vision for the organization, ensuring alignment with the mission, goals, and values of the organization. Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational excellence and drive organizational growth.

Operational Management: Advises on all aspects of organizational operations, including financial management, program development, resource allocation, and risk management. Ensure efficient and effective utilization of resources to maximize impact and sustainability.

Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including board members, partners, and community leaders. Collaborate with stakeholders to advance the organization's mission and objectives.

Team Leadership: Provide inspirational leadership to volunteers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. Mentor and develop team members to maximize their potential and contribution to the organization.

Fundraising and Revenue Generation: Contribute efforts to secure funding and support for organizational programs and initiatives.

Program Development and Evaluation: Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and initiatives to achieve organizational goals. Monitor and assess program effectiveness, makes suggestions on adjustments as needed to enhance impact and efficiency.

Advocacy and Public Relations: Serve as a spokesperson and advocate for the organization, representing its interests to external stakeholders, policymakers, and the broader community. Build awareness and support for the organization's mission and initiatives through strategic communication and outreach efforts.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, non-profit management, or a related field; advanced degree is an asset.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful fundraising, resource development, and financial management.
  • Strong understanding of non-profit governance, compliance, and risk management practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and goals.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate teams, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and build inclusive environments.
