Description:
- Embrace the mission, vision and values of UCS and inspire others to use their skills, abilities and connections to help continue to improve human service availability and delivery.
- Provide day-to-day management of the organization in accordance with Board policy and commonly accepted business practice and professional ethics.
- Oversee policy advocacy planning and implementation, and provide information, trend analysis, and documentation to inform human service planning and the policies and funding which affect human services.
- Build strong local, regional, and national relationships; maintain and expand collaborative relationships with partners and stakeholders to meet strategic goals and objectives.
- Ensure fiscal responsibility of the organization including reporting, compliance, budget management, and the cultivation and stewardship of public and private support.
- Promote a culture of collaboration and teamwork that helps staff and volunteers excel.
- Support the integration of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging into the core work of UCS.
Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. An educational background in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Human Services or related field is desirable.
- 5-7 years of relevant, progressively responsible experience, including demonstrated excellence in fund development and leadership, with strong analytical, written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with Johnson County nonprofit and public sector desirable.
- Proven ability to build strong external relationships with funders, donors, volunteers, public officials and partner organizations.
- Track record of success in financial management, human resources, stewardship and developing strategies to increase revenue, including grant writing and fund management.
- Experience developing and working with a diverse Board of Directors.
- Outstanding presentation and communication skills, comfortable serving as lead spokesperson and relationship builder.
- Proven ability to serve as a detail-oriented, motivated, and enthusiastic leader.
