Description:
A Heavy Construction Equipment Service Manager must be able to:
- Oversee the daily operations of the equipment service department
- Provide leadership at branch level and work with others to ensure customer satisfaction
- Lead and Supervise Technicians in shop and field
- Oversee the scheduling of repairs, arrival and departure of customer machines and rentals
- Provide leadership and guidance to the technicians in diagnosing and repairing equipment including compactors, excavators, loaders and other heavy construction equipment in the area
- Respond promptly to customer needs in a positive, supportive and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed
- Communicate job progress to the customer as needed and follow up with customers after the repair is completed to ensure customer satisfaction
- Complete service reports and maintain clear customer records
- Schedule routine visits to key accounts
- Work with the General Service Manager to provide a safe operation for the employees as well as control expenses, monitor shop efficiency, and maximize overall shop profitability
Qualifications:
- 2 year technical degree or several years of comparable shop experience. Prefer someone with equipment managment experience.
- Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, track systems and components, pneumatic, electrical and fuel systems is a plus
- Positive attitude and desire to provide outstanding and professional customer service
- Proficient written, verbal and computer skills
- Ability to maintain safe and clean work environment
- Must be able to pass a drug and background screening and have an insurable driving record.
