Environmental Health Safety Specialist

Akkodis is recruiting for a EHS Specialist for an aerospace manufacturing in the Bohemia, NY area. This is an onsite contract position with a pay range of $30/hour - $37/hour. Rates may vary depending on education, experience, location or other reasons. This position supports site leadership through the improvement and maintenance of safety and environmental programs, creation and implementation of EHS training, completion of root cause investigations, inspections, and execution of special projects, as assigned, all focused towards the goal of regulatory compliance and risk reduction.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science or related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in EHS preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with EPA and local environmental regulations.
• Experience in training
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
• Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and training skills
