Description:
Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, environmental sciences or physical sciences.
(Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work with others effectively in a diverse working environment.
Effective oral and written communication skills to transmit information accurately and understandably in group settings.
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with government agencies, trade groups and other industries.
Computer skills including competency with spreadsheets, word processors, presentation tools and other various programs; or a demonstrated ability to learn such skills.
Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
Possession of professional registration or certification is a plus.
Responsibilities:-
The environmental health and safety engineer is a professional position responsible for the analysis, development and recommendations for various projects and responsible for managing environmental health and safety programs. The environmental health and safety engineer will be responsible for regulatory compliance, training, engineering design and operational consulting support. Duties include reporting to, direct contact with and coordination with regulators, consultants and others affected by or having responsibility for activity at the site. Supervise select hourly employees on a day-to-day basis.
