Overview:

Acquires basic knowledge and develops basic skills through mentored experiences. Applies learned knowledge and skills to perform assigned tasks.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Direction

  • Perform work under direct supervision of an experienced professional and follow established procedures and clearly defined processes.

At the Operational and Company Level

  • Primarily interacts with internal team members and peers across multiple departments within the organization to gain knowledge and assist in preparing engineering project deliverables.

Do the Work

  • Collects data and gathers information or documents.
  • Applies learned knowledge and skills to perform assigned tasks.
  • Performs basic computations or analysis.
  • Conduct research related to jurisdictional engineering and zoning requirements.
  • Complete zoning applications for project submittals.
  • Assist with the preparation of engineering permit packages for submittals.
  • Attend jurisdictional meetings and Zoom calls to document proceedings.
  • Assist in preparing Site Investigation Reports (SIRs), comprehensive engineering and zoning reports provided to our clients during due diligence.
  • Work with Regional and Corporate CAD teams to learn CAD standards and best practices and implement them into projects as appropriate.
  • Accompany and assist Project Engineers or other project staff on site visits and field inspections.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering project deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • Must be actively enrolled in an ABET/EAC accredited bachelor’s degree program in engineering.
  • Must have successfully completed an engineering internship with the Company.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Possesses foundational engineering concepts through continued undergraduate level education.
  • Student member of a professional practice organization preferred. Previous experience participating in technical student competition teams preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Must hold a valid state driver’s license and successfully pass a motor vehicle check.

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

  • Partially indoor professional office environment which may include exposure to bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.
  • Partially outdoor work environment which may include exposure to adverse weather conditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and/or potential hazards.
  • Mobility around an office environment.
  • Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Primarily local travel during the business day.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
