Description:
Noblis is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Advanced Scientist, Engineer (ITDI) to join our team at ARPA-H (Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health).
As an ARPA-H Advanced Scientist, Engineer (ITDI), you will be responsible for providing scientific and/or engineering support to program managers. This role involves providing technical support and ensuring effective development, management, and application of your expertise in Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML), AI or software development, and project management depending on specific program assignment (ACTS, Eureka, Grace).
Responsibilities and Duties:
- The Scientist / Engineer will plan and develop R&D projects, concerned with unique or controversial problems which have an important effect on major programs.
- Evaluating the feasibility of technical approaches to problems.
- Reviewing health research-related technical reports,
- Developing and evaluating scientific capability development strategies.
- Monitoring R&D projects and technical performance against goals.
- Developing test and evaluation methodologies.
- Assessing the efficacy, safety, cost lifecycle costs of proposed or realized scientific solutions.
- Developing scientific program status reports, PowerPoint briefings, and read-ahead materials.
- Developing, monitoring, and maintaining a central repository of R&D efforts.
- Organizing, coordinating, and participating in meetings, discussions, and seminars on ARPA-H-related topics,
- Communicating scientific findings to technical and non-technical audiences as needed
- Providing support to Portfolio and Program Managers in their continued engagement with ARPA-H customers.
- Performing routine tasks including, but not limited to, scheduling, writing internal memos, maintaining and updating Program Management records, filing, intranet website maintenance, preparing and reviewing presentations, records maintenance, and coordinating daily operations of the assigned program.
- Assisting with planning technology transitions to the respective operational customer.
- Supporting the identification, assessment, evaluation, and testing of existing and emerging healthcare technologies, systems, and capabilities, including coordination with related government, academic, and industry programs; attending meetings and symposia; coordinating meetings and programs reviews; and supporting program advocacy including development and production of presentation materials.
- Provide expertise and advice regarding AI/ML.
- Proactively identify risk areas highlighting impact to mission and proactively developing solutions.
- Capture meeting minutes and lessons learned and incorporates solutions to action items and acquisition process improvement methodologies.
- Manage and respond to program-aligned data calls, compiling information, and preparing information for reporting to senior leadership.
- Provide Noblis-internal leadership, including:
- Possible line management responsibilities.
- Providing professional development and mentorship for teammates.
- Development of new Business Development (BD) opportunities and related capture management, in close collaboration with Noblis’ BD team.
Required Qualifications:
The candidate must have the following required qualifications:
- A minimum of 15 years past work experience in a scientific or engineering role, such as a Scientist or Engineering SME preferably in a governmental research or scientific organization
- Master’s degree in computer science or related scientific field is required.
