This Senior Systems Engineer position will be on a dynamic team, reviewing, developing, and providing support for Combat Systems-related curricula and systems at SCSTC Dahlgren, VA. Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our Sailors.

Serco supports the US Navy and SCSTC Dahlgren developing and delivering training for US Navy combat systems. Our team maintains and manages the training programs ensuring the safety of the Sailors and to allowing them to perform their missions successfully.

You will be part of a team working closely with the customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality systems. Rick Shute [ www.linkedin.com/in/rickshute ] leads this team with over 35 years’ experience and is a Navy veteran.

In this role, you will:
 

  • You will be involved with developing technical courses to meet training needs and delivering training to end-users
  • Analyze recommended changes and determine impact on system readiness and user functionality
  • Conducts training needs assessment, vendor selection and evaluation of training programs making changes to the curriculum and course content as appropriate
  • Maintain up-to-date technical resource library

     

Qualifications

To be successful in the role, you must have:
 

  • An active DoD Secret security clearance
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or similar
    • In some cases, some educational requirements may be adjusted for or waived for more than 8 years of applicable work experience
  • Eight (8) years’ experience, including at least 4 years' experience as an AEGIS Computer Network Technician (ACNT)
  • Experience in the design, operation, and/or maintenance of complex U.S. Combat Systems
  • Demonstrated experience in the analysis of recommended changes and in determining the impact on system readiness and user functionality
  • Experience in reading design documents, evaluating high level interface block diagrams, evaluating commercial equipment, part task trainer emulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • Ability to travel 10%
