Focus area varies between each discipline and the following is a high-level summary for each discipline:
Transmission Line Engineer:
This position is responsible for the design of transmission lines: routing, permitting, dynamic monitoring, optimizing, structure spotting, conductor selection, fiber optic utilization, joint attachments, and foundations
Distribution Line Engineer (Utility):
This position will support efforts associated with Grid Modernization deployment initiatives. Engineer positions will support distribution design/engineering of projects being implemented across the 5 Entergy operating companies. This will include all detailed scoping, engineering and design activities from projects initiated by Asset Management, Distribution Planning, Distribution Automation and Grid Modernization initiatives.
Relay Settings Engineer:
Performs a wide variety of planning, maintenance, design engineering, project management and construction and operations, activities related to routine, non-routine, and emergency restoration duties. Project areas may include grid/system design, operations and maintenance, planning, asset management, reliability, computer applications, safety, and root cause failure analysis.
Relay Protection and Control Engineer:
Provides protection and control design engineering services for transmission and distribution substations, along with technical guidance and support to asset management and capital projects teams. The engineer would need to communicate and work well with multiple discipline teams to ensure project goals are met. He or she would be required to help technicians work through and trouble shoot AC power circuits, DC control circuits, and relay control logic problems.
Substation Design Engineer:
Performs a wide variety of planning, maintenance, design engineering, project management and construction and operations, activities related to routine, non-routine, and emergency restoration duties. Project areas may include grid/system design, operations and maintenance, planning, asset management, reliability, computer applications, safety, and root cause failure analysis.
Civil/Structural Engineer:
The Civil/Structural Engineer in Substation Design within Transmission Engineering works in conjunction with other engineering disciplines and team members to achieve stated project goals. The Civil/Structural Engineer focuses primarily on the planning, scoping, estimating, and design of civil and structural elements and activities.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSBILITIES (All Disciplines):
