Description:
New England Biolabs is hiring a Distribution and Logistics Manager will be responsible for the NEB shipping department and U.S. cold chain distribution operations. This role will have oversight of distribution operations and personnel across multiple sites, ensuring consistency in operations, process and execution. Included in the responsibilities is the management of outbound logistics processes and partners, ensuring products arrive to customers safely and on time. The successful candidate will posses strong leadership and customer services skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise the distribution staff and operations, including order fulfillment, warehousing, inventory management, and transportation.
- Monitor and analyze the performance, quality, and efficiency of distribution operations and outbound logistics partners, and implement improvement strategies as needed.
- Implement and maintain best practices and standards for inventory control, distribution, and logistics management.
- Develop, implement, and maintain documentation for all policies, processes, and procedures to ensure consistent practices within the distribution area.
- Supervise, train, and coach the distribution staff to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, legal regulations, and ISO requirements.
- Manage and negotiate with distribution suppliers and logistics partners where required.
- Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders including manufacturing, procurement, and customer service to quickly address issues and mitigate risks, while continuing to evolve end to end processes to achieve improved efficiency, service, and cost savings.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in distribution, logistics, or related field
- Proven leadership, management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Excellent knowledge of distribution and logistics principles and practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and distribution software.
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
