DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Key Strategic Partner Targeting and Development – Identify key strategic accounts and potential business partners across our target markets and build strong relationships across these accounts and targets. Lead the engagement on our stable of clinically researched and branded products and custom capabilities with these key partners.
  • Key Customer Relationships – Have relational influence over key FC accounts, as needed, to help support Account Executives and help drive growth
  • New Market Development – Lead expansion into new markets to support the company’s overall growth strategy by understanding key customers in each market, developing strategy to attack, and rallying the organization to support the market development.
  • Help People Develop – In conjunction with the FC Sales Manager, have mentoring influence over the Account Executives.
  • Strategic Item Placement – Identify key partners for the ingredients we want to sell more of.
  • Pipeline Fill – Create and execute business development strategies to facilitate company growth.

JOB EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 10 years of proven business development success.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated success in driving new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and developing new markets
  • Critical thinker with sound judgment and a willingness to assume significant responsibility for business growth
  • Knowledge of food, beverage, and/or dietary supplements ingredients and markets
  • A successful background in food science and/or fluidity in clinical research is required.
  • Experience collaborating with R&D teams and the ability to read, understand, and convey key results from our scientific work in support of our ingredients.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to understand, draft, and help implement contracts with key strategic partners.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Adept at relationship-building and fostering.
  • Experience in strategic sales, including leading strategic projects, implementing sales plans, solving complex problems, and delivering results that meet or exceed goals.
  • Strong service orientation.
  • Opportunistic entrepreneur with honed critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Highly collaborative approach to facilitating internal and external projects and processes.
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility and trustworthiness.
  • Lifelong learner with a history of continually developing or improving both technical and leadership skills.
  • Ability to lead multiple critical business initiatives simultaneously, prioritizing and re-prioritizing on an ongoing basis.
  • Strong interest in building and maintaining extensive external networks, both with a customer focus and in the interest of staying current on trends and industry best practices.
  • Relationships and vision are the cornerstones to business development – this leader/role has a keen sense of the value we add, has a great understanding of the market, can unlock opportunities, and build trust with our key partners.
