Description:

The Director of Business Development will be responsible for creating and implementing strategic growth initiatives across Signature Healthcare at Home. The role’s primary responsibility is to grow overall census and pipeline of business for Hospice and Home Health Agencies in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, identification, analysis, qualification, planning, execution, and integration of business development strategies and opportunities.
  • Direct daily business development activities including providing direct oversight of the establishment and implementation of sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Assist operations leaders in establishing agency and market projections in the annual budget and in establishing allocations for the business development department. Monitor allocation of resources according to budgetary limitations.
  • Continuously conduct market assessments and uses data analytics tools to develop comprehensive sales plans designed to meet budgetary goals.
  • Promote and monitor CRM utilization and oversee development/implementation of quarterly business plans in each market.
  • Create and promote marketing and promotional initiatives to achieve budgetary volume projections.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with current and potential referral and payer sources.
  • Recruit, select, orient, motivate, and provide oversight to members of the sales team.
  • Build and monitor community, customer, payer and patient relationships of Signature Healthcare at Home as a high-quality provider of services.
  • Provide leadership in strategic planning including identifying opportunities for additional or improved services to address customer needs.
  • Maintain comprehensive working knowledge of Signature markets including government agencies, major payer groups, key referral sources, and competitor’s market positioning.
  • Negotiate service contracts with managed care organizations, government agencies, and other payers when necessary and leverage key accounts and relationships to increase market share.
  • Maintain comprehensive working knowledge in the field of business development and share information with appropriate organization personnel.
  • Monitor and reports cost effectiveness of business development efforts.
  • Develop and maintain strategic affiliations and preferred provider relationships.

Qualifications/Skillsets:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum five years of experience in multi-site hospice sales management.
  • Extensive experience with new Agency start-up, Certificate of Need, and M&A landscape.
  • Knowledge of the how’s and why’s of preparing and justifying business cases and value propositions; ability to justify business expenditures by identifying costs, benefits, ROI, opportunities, and risks.
  • Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside the organization.
  • Proven ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1 to 2 years) and strategic (3 to 5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% at times in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.
