Overview:

Amyx is seeking to hire a Director of Business Development (BD) to support our Growth Department in the Reston, VA area. The Director of BD will supervise the Business Development Division. The Director of BD reports to the Chief Growth Officer (CGO). This is a corporate senior leadership position within a dynamic and very successful company. The Director of BD is a highly visible position and plays a key role in achieving corporate growth goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

Supervises the Business Development Division
Initial market, agency, partner and opportunity research and pipeline qualification (builds/adds opportunities to an opportunity tracking system)
Initial communication with agencies (outside current customers) and contracting officers
Builds agency call plans and assists Division Leads in building Account Plans
Responsible for adding new opportunities to the pipeline and updating all initial Shipley Phase opportunities
Agency and Teammate Relationship Management
GWAC/IDIQ PMO… monitors/sends out task orders to our partners
Builds and conduct Business Development training to the company as part of their professional development program
Marketing, conferences, corporate presentation, slicks, social media posts, websites posts and press releases
The Director of BD will also participate in leading key opportunity captures as assigned

Qualifications:

Required:

10+ years of business development, capture management or similar equivalent experience in the GovCon industry
5+ years of supervisory experience
Experience as a retired/separated military service member who has management programs/projects involving contractors or experience managing programs/projects as a Government civilian employee anywhere in the Department of Defense or military services
Experience building and qualifying opportunity pipelines and using an opportunity tracking system
Experience conducting research on contract opportunities, government agencies and other GovCon companies for partnering
Experience building and executing call plans to reach out to government agencies centered on a corporate opportunity pipeline
Must be comfortable around senior government officials and corporate executives
Must be able to multi-task and manage the work of the Business Development team to include providing specific guidance
Must be flexible, possess a positive personality and be teamwork oriented
Must be able to operate in a fast paced and highly visible environment
Must be proficient at and comfortable using Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, PowerPoitn, Excel, Word, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter
