Director Of Art Exhibitions

Description:

• Oversee all aspects of the School of Art’s campus exhibition spaces (Gallery, Annex, ancillary locations) schedule, and related programming, including organizing and developing the School of Visual Arts student and faculty exhibitions; managing public relations and publicity aspects of gallery exhibitions; and developing educational programming related to exhibitions.
• Manage the MSUM Permanent Collection: catalogue new requisitions, maintain records of locations on campus, rotate displays of works on campus, and work with College Lab Specialist to repair damaged frames or other aspects of display as needed.
• Work in conjunction with the School of Visual Arts Gallery Committee to identify and solicit potential exhibitors/exhibitions external to the university, and to coordinate the Visiting Artists program.
• Design exhibitions and oversee preparations, mounting and breakdown; organize and oversee scheduling, staffing and production of gallery openings
• Recruit, train and manage student employees.
• Position may include grant-writing and donor solicitation to support programming.
