Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation and implementation of a comprehensive learning and development strategy that aligns with Philanthropy’s goals and objectives
  • Identify training needs of the Philanthropy community – new employees, required skill development, and procedure compliance
  • Develop annual cadence and episodic training priorities
  • Coordinate specific technology focused training to support baseline expectations of all Philanthropy employees, and specialized trainings to support specific teams and responsibilities
  • Work with subject matter experts to drive training objectives and strategies, including Advancement Services teams, other Philanthropy programs, and key Hutch departments including Finance, HR, IT, and OGC
  • Utilize various learning methods to ensure inclusive environment and effective utilization of formal and informal learning opportunities
  • Develop and maintain organizational communication channels to keep employees informed of training and development events and resources
  • Develop curriculum and gather materials from key stakeholders
  • Develop customized training curriculum for technical systems (includes the development of trainings that are expert or peer facilitated)
  • Educate on supplemental training resources offered at Fred Hutch and external training programs
  • Conduct regular assessments of Philanthropy’s learning and development needs and effectiveness of core capacity building initiatives
  • Actively monitor key training and development trends
  • Manage Philanthropy HIPAA compliance training
  • Supervise a project coordinator

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in designing and delivering adult education, leadership development, and/or technical/systems training
  • 4 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience leading presentations, classroom training, public speaking, e-learning, and curriculum development related to technology and/or software
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing comprehensive adult learning and development programs that align with organizational objectives and promote lifelong learning
  • Experience designing and delivering effective workshops, seminars, and coaching sessions that enhance skill development, promote professional growth, and align with DEI objectives
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify learning needs and develop targeted training programs
  • Proficiency in creating and maintaining a learning management system and reports to track training progress
  • Expertise in establishing metrics to measure the impact of learning and development initiatives on individual and organizational performance
  • Strong awareness of industry trends and best practices in lifelong learning, leadership development, and adult learning theories
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills including the ability to effectively communicate complex information to various audiences
  • Experience integrating multimedia into web-based courses and familiarity with tools used to produce web-based materials (e.g., Presenter, Articulate, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Captivate, digital video, digital camera, and digital audio and editing software)
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships and collaborate with a wide variety of constituencies at all levels of an organization
  • Proven track record of successful team and program development
  • Agile and able to implement change to adapt to changing internal forces and emerging priorities
  • Strong strategic planning and project management skills
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage staff toward shared goals
  • Microsoft Office
