What You’ll Do:
As the Director of People Development and Learning, you will play a pivotal role in driving L’Oréal’s commitment to bringing development and learning opportunities to people so they can grow and get equipped with the right skills in a changing world. Reporting directly to the Vice President of the Performance Practice, you will manage a team of learning activators on projects and oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive learning strategy for Marketing, Digital and Data reaching approximately 12,000 of our US based employees. You will help create a learning ecosystem that enhances LUSA employees' skills, and capabilities to enable professional development and business growth.
Key Job Accountabilities (include but are not limited to):
- Work with your Vice President, the Global People Development & Learning teams, and L’Oreal Executive leadership to build and execute a strategic learning roadmap that accelerates digital, marketing, and data skills across L’Oreal USA.
- Oversee the delivery of roughly 40+ unique learning programs annually and coach the PDL Activators on the team on how to manage logistics, high impact content and best in class learner experience.
- Partner with the three Global Learning University teams to deliver global content and share LUSA perspective/needs to influence the worldwide offer. Identify ways to amplify the marketing and reach of the global programs and adapt global content to the local market as needed.
- Continually meet with digital, data, and marketing leaders in the US to diagnose short and medium-term development needs and create innovative and customized learning solutions to address those needs.
- Apply instructional design techniques to create and deliver strategic/high quality learning solutions, and measure impact. Ensure high value programs have a 360 approach to learning, factoring in on-the-job (OTJ), in-tact team, classroom, coaching, e-learning and other learning formats.
- Oversee the sourcing & management of external experts, speakers, and facilitators, partnering with procurement and ensuring optimal representation of the L’Oreal brand.
- Responsible for maintaining the digital, marketing & data learning budget and ensure that Activators are adhering to L’Oréal’s procurement, legal, and payment policies.
- Ensure that our programming meets the global KPIs (coverage, reach and impact) for all LUSA marketing, digital and data employees. Leverage data to create executory summaries of progress and use findings to inform strategic choices & prioritization of offer.
- Continually benchmark external best practices and evaluate skills gaps, in order to anticipate skills of the future.
- Help to build the profile of the People Development and Learning team internally and externally
What We Are Looking For:
- 8+ years of experience and/or knowledge in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Marketing and/or Digital functions preferred. Experience working with a large, complex and global organization is preferred.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication Skills. Able to communicate a message in an engaging and inspiring way to multiple levels in the organization.
- Strong E.Q. and listening skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively regardless of level.
- Strong analytical & data analysis skills required. Able to analyze large data sets and create story around them; a strong understanding of the Kirkpatrick model of evaluation is preferred
- Project Management Expertise is a must. Proven experience running learning programs both in person and virtually across multiple locations and ability to set strategy, goals, while meeting deadlines.
- Possess strong facilitation skills. Must be confident presenting in front of both large and small audiences and managing group dynamics. Previous facilitation experience is required.
- Should possess strategic consulting & influencing skills. Able to work with leaders to analyze complex business problems and define, validate and develop solutions in collaboration with learning and development partners.
- Proven ability to collaborate is a must. Able to engage cross functional partners to drive towards shared objectives, work closely with other Learning team members to share best practices and ensure high quality program delivery.
- Must stay abreast of learning industry best practices and trends and able to demonstrate knowledge of adult learning principles
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
