Duties

The Digital Asset Management Specialist is responsible for managing the museum's digital assets, primary digital collection objects and digital rights and reproductions.

In this position, you will:

  • oversee digital asset management and quality control related to digital image and other files ingested into and stored in SI’s digital asset management system (DAMS).
  • draft, implement, and update policies, guidelines, standards, and workflows for managing Primary Digital Collection Objects (PDCOs). Ensure museum policies and standards comply with SI policies and standards.
  • draft statements of work and requests for quote/proposal.
  • distribute digital images and other digital assets to various audiences for personal, scholarly, educational, and academic uses.
  • flesh out needs for contract work with department staff. Performs market research to identify qualified vendors. Oversee request for quote/proposal, reviews quotes and proposals for technical adequacy and oversee competitive selection processes.
