Description:
Moment is a leading presence in Jewish journalism today, a growing multimedia community with innovative projects and award winning content. Moment takes on the issues that define our times from an independent standpoint and curates wide-ranging intellectual, cultural, literary and artistic conversations that strengthen the community and build democracy through healthy civil discourse. Cofounded by Elie Wiesel and Leonard Fein in 1975 and named for the Yiddish daily, Der Moment (1910-1939), it has a prestigious lineage.
Moment, a very special magazine and community based in Washington DC, is looking for a very special person to join our small advancement team.
We are seeking someone with a passion for journalistic excellence, intellectual thought, history, current events, and the Jewish future. We need a big thinker with good instincts who can manage grants; write grant proposals and reports; work with the organization’s leaders, board members and donors; and help with our annual gala and other events.
We need someone who cares deeply about people and has excellent people skills, who is looking for a close caring work family and a creative work environment, who loves communicating, whether it’s writing and speaking; loves learning and longs to be in a community of lifelong learners.
Fundraising experience is a plus but is not necessary. We will consider training the right person. Good organizational skills, comfort with technology and familiarity with databases, and a strong work ethic are all are essential.
