Description:
We are looking for a Desktop Support Specialist to work in the maintenance, installation, and repair of computers, software, and mobile technology. This position will be full-time contract and onsite.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and deploy IT related equipment
- Provide in-depth enterprise IT workstation support to end users
- Resolve problems and answer questions related to the computing environment
- Contact vendor-support when necessary to resolve issues
- Serve as a technical liaison to the user community
- Document incidents and problems and escalate issues to the appropriate engineering team when required
- Install and update software and Operating Systems
- Install and troubleshoots computer equipment and mobile devices at user locations as required
- Evaluate and recommend available training to satisfy user needs
- Prepare and assist in the preparation of reports
- Evaluate and recommend hardware, software, and peripheral equipment
- Guide users in hardware and software best practices
- Assist with equipment inventory, maintenance contracts, and equipment warranties
- Provide off-hours coverage as scheduled by the Team Lead or Managers
- From time to time, the employee will be required to perform additional tasks and duties as required by the employer, Team Lead, and Managers
Required
What You'll Need
- Associate degree, or equivalent experience and education, and 1-3 years of experience providing Information Technology end user support
- In-depth understanding of troubleshooting techniques and experience with remote troubleshooting tools
- Tracks and monitors the progress of issues through standard best practices and procedures to identify interventions and resolutions
- Ability to establish and maintain a high level of user trust and confidence and ability to manage client expectations
- Knowledge of supporting current releases of Windows 10, Windows 11 and Microsoft 365
- Knowledge of standard principles and practices of IT Desktop Support & Cybersecurity
- Knowledge of capabilities, requirements, uses, and applications of computers, peripherals, and mobile devices
- Knowledge of Network equipment, routers, hubs, switches, Ethernet cables, and general networking
- Ability to travel to offices throughout Allegheny County, as needed, to maintain, install, and repair computer & mobile device equipment and software
