Description:
The Design Engineer - Lighting has a strong working knowledge of lighting, equipment, and systems, and the design-build process, as well as the role lighting plays in both high-end Custom Residential and Commercial projects. Works closely with interior designers, architects, and our team to deliver high-quality design solutions for the built environment.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:
- Meet with clients to understand their lighting and shade design needs.
- Prepare detailed design examples with clear intent
- Will work within client budgets to achieve the best value in design
- Conduct client site visits to better assess and understand client needs collaborating with others on the team
- Will produce a lighting plan and product specifications according to client specifications
- Produce designs in AutoCAD, AGI and other design software
- Document revisions and plan changes within company protocol and safety standards
- Collaboration with interior designers, architects, and our team’s members throughout the process to seamlessly deliver high-quality design solutions to the clients.
- Attendance of regular lighting education lectures to stay polished within your craft
- Additional duties as assigned.
To join our band, you'll need the following experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field preferred.
- CLD, Certified Lighting Designer, or other lighting certifications a plus, but not required
- 3+ years of experience in lighting and shade design.
- Must have a working knowledge of lighting equipment and systems, design-build process, and the role lighting plays in high-end Custom Residential and Commercial projects.
- Must have a solid understanding of the technique and technology of creative lighting design
- Full understanding of photometric and light level calculations and recommended light levels are required
- Must be skilled in AutoCAD, AGI, and any necessary design software
- Familiarity with the construction process, electricity, codes, and environmental issues required
- Strong problem-solving skills. customer service, professionalism, collaboration, adaptability, and flexibility are essential to succeed in this role here.
