Key responsibilities:
The Design and Digital Marketing Specialist works closely with staff members in the SCE Communications and Marketing department and beyond to accomplish the following:
- Conceptualization and design of marketing materials: 40%
- Digital marketing campaign development, execution, and analysis: 40%
- Planning, coordination, and production of design projects: 15%
- Training, technical support, and other duties as assigned: 5 %
The specialist might also supervise student staff.
What We Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, marketing, or related discipline with at least 3-5 years’ experience in digital marketing and design in a professional setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent design skills as well as experience managing digital advertising from creation to analytics and assisting with SEO.
- Significant experience with and enthusiasm for emerging digital technologies, social media channels and products, and current design trends.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Ability to work closely, collaboratively, flexibly, and effectively with diverse clients and staff a must. (See Cornell’s “Staff Skills for Success.”)
- Passionate about working in an organization that values and promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism, and wellbeing. Ability to serve as an advocate for individuals of all ethnicities, genders, ages, and backgrounds. Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities, including communities of color.
- Must be able to meet deadlines, work under pressure, establish and track budgets, and handle multiple priorities, as well as use project management tools to track progress and completion of tasks.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and teamwork a must.
- A strong customer service ethic, positive attitude, and enthusiasm for communicating SCE’s mission.
- Ability and willingness to share marketing and design knowledge and skills with communications team.
- Advanced skills working on Mac platform using Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Premier), MSWord, video, and HTML editing software required.
- Must be proficient in the use of a video camera, in photo/video editing, and in the use and management of digital asset management systems.
