Description:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manages and provides direction and supervision to all estimating and cost management resources and operations
- Responsible for preparing and updating project construction budgets and estimates at various stages of design and supporting project staff with their estimating and cost management needs during construction
- Trains and coordinates staff to produce accurate cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and value engineering proposals
- Provides realistic unit cost of items or systems based on the scope, complexity, location, and year each is to be built
- Researches and implements market trends, such as current and future market pricing, regional factors, labor usage and analysis, and other pertinent construction market information
- Supports business development activities for pursuits, proposals, and interviews
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related degree is required
- 10+ years full time experience in engineering or construction management, in an estimating or cost consulting role
- Strong communication, presentation, writing, and computer skills are essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and On-Screen Takeoff is required
- Strong knowledge of principles and practices of construction cost estimating, and conceptual budgeting
- Experience with estimating and negotiating construction cost changes
- Understanding the Federal and Local labor rates (Davis-Bacon Act, Prevailing Wage Rate, ...) and their proper application to each estimate
- AACE - Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) preferred
- Certified Value Specialist (CVS) preferred
