Key Job Functions

1. Content Creation and Development

  • Craft engaging and persuasive content across PGE platforms including web, social, email and other digital and print channels.
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand voice while meeting the needs of the target audience.
  • Collaborate with partners to develop materials that support customer engagement and satisfaction.

2. Digital Copywriting Expertise and SEO

  • Utilize digital copywriting and marketing best practices to enhance the digestibility and engagement potential of content in an increasingly content-heavy world
  • Integrate keyword research and relevant keywords into copy to drive traffic and improve site performance.
  • Work with teams to ensure content is easily searchable and accessible to customers
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices for digital copywriting, including scannability, brevity, and digital UX guidelines
  • Learn how to harness new technologies to maximize our efficiency and effectiveness as a content team, and share your knowledge

3. Editing and Proofreading

  • Review and refine copy to ensure clarity, coherence and correctness.
  • Correct grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors, and enhance overall content quality.
  • Maintain consistency in style and tone across all written materials, aligned to organizational standards and goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management

Ensures deliverables are on time and within budget; prioritizes tasks; ensures projects conform to PGE’s strategic direction, programs, processes, customers and overall marketplace.

  • Design

May develop collateral and material for projects or direct others to do so; maintains consistent brand standards; decides which guidelines apply to each project.

  • Client Collaboration

Collaborates with project teams to assess needs, decide appropriate deliverables and establish timeframes; determines time needed for each task and works with team to establish overall project timeline.

  • Media Relations May serve as company spokesperson during storms and outages and, depending on position, may represent PGE at conferences, meetings, and events. May coordinate media-related events. Determines appropriate response to questions or comments from the public.

Education/Experience/Certifications

Education Requires a bachelor’s degree in English, communications, marketing or other related field or equivalent experience.

Experience Typically two or more years in marketing or corporate communications in a customer-centric environment or related field; energy industry experience preferred.
