Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama is seeking a Creative Content Coordinator and
Webmaster to join our team! The Creative Content Coordinator and Webmaster will apply art, creative, and design skills to produce a visually appealing product, as well as manage the website for our council. Items produced will include patches, t-shirts and other apparel, promotional advertisements, brand materials, media, and other print and digital marketing resources. The ideal person for this position has an excellent design sense, a keen eye for detail, a well-developed artistic background, a great work ethic, and an outstanding team player mentality. This person will have the ability to coordinate color, imagination, and all manner of design elements to successfully create many forms of work product.
Primary Accountabilities:
- Produce all visual aspects of council communications and marketing materials and develop all creative content from concept through design. Reviews and analyzes all council-wide publications to meet the needs of internal and external audiences and consistency in brand and design according to the organizational mission.
- Transfer of creative content to documents, clothing, promotional items, electronic media, etc., to create the following included, but not limited to, logos, patches, apparel, flyers, brochures, pamphlets, postcards, stationary, business cards, marketing materials, stickers, nametags, cookie wraps, forms, invitations, certificates, etc.
- Produce visuals for and coordinate printing of all publications including the annual report, camp catalog, direct mail and recruitment collateral, annual Trailblazer magazine, and general GSNCA marketing information. Oversees the cost-effective and timely implementation of all communications initiatives.
- Design and manage, as primary point of contact, the website for the council and ensure accurate and timely interaction with council functions. Translates needs of each department in council to provide easily accessible and well-organized online information and materials.
- Sourcing and communicating with vendors to order all custom products for GSNCA projects, programs, and events.
- Ensure that the commitment of the council to pluralism is an integral component of every communications vehicle.
- Coordinate council compliance with GSUSA branding.
- Participate in all assigned staff meetings and attends training events as appropriate.
- Provides reports to management in a complete and timely manner.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required :
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Adobe Creative Cloud – particularly the InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop components
- SharePoint
- Adobe Experience Manager, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Prior experience in communications, graphic design, and web design
- Computer skills in desktop publishing and database management software
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work well independently under tight deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to keep records and prepare reports
