Corporate Communications Specialist

This position will join a distributed team that works to creatively and effectively shape eBay’s narrative to support key business priorities and strategies. The individual will be counted on to work collaboratively within eBay’s matrixed organization and to help provide critical thinking, strategy and seamless execution to the corporate communications function.

About The Job

• This role will support eBay’s business critical communications and human interest storytelling. This role will also support overall corporate communications efforts including proactive storytelling, speaking engagements and awards, media monitoring and reporting, and measurement.

• This person will also play a critical role in supporting team operations.

• The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of previous experience, either in-house or at a PR agency.

• We’re looking for someone who is a nimble and creative storyteller, has a penchant for cross-team collaboration, a proactive and energetic posture, impeccable judgment and writing capabilities, acts with a sense of urgency and the ability to weave seamlessly between a wide range of topics.

• Success in this role entails:

• Working closely with cross-functional team members across the Communications team and the broader eBay organization.

• Ideating and executing on compelling communications activations from start to finish, including: working with internal teams to source stories; developing written materials including communications plans, messaging, talk tracks, FAQs, external materials (press releases, statements, blogs, op-eds, presentations), briefing documents, scripts, etc; and leveraging media relationships to elevate eBay’s brand and reputation.

• Fostering relationships with key media and acting as an effective company spokesperson.

• Media training and prepping leaders and placing executive profiles, bylines and high-level speaking ops that further our company narrative.

• Supporting eBay events by working with executives and business partners for messaging, presentation and on-site event support.

About You
