The Guidehouse Energy, Sustainability, & Infrastructure segment is a go-to partner for leaders creating sustainable, resilient communities and infrastructure, serving as trusted advisors to utilities and energy companies, large corporations, investors, NGOs, and the public sector. The North Market Team within the Commercial Energy practice works with clients across the energy value chain to guide them through the energy transition. We assist our clients to:
 

  • Develop and implement their decarbonization and resiliency plans.
  • Support the strategy, design, and evaluation of customer-focused programs, including energy efficiency, heat electrification, demand response, energy storage, electric transportation, distributed solar, and energy justice, among others.
  • Support the development and implementation of distribution and transmission investments to modernize energy networks.
     

As a Consultant II on the North Energy Providers team within the Guidehouse Energy, Sustainability, and Infrastructure segment, you will contribute to development of workstream results and client management. You will be expected to complete analysis and prepare and communicate well-organized, effective reports and presentations to clients.

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone with a passion for creative problem solving, client service, and project management. Key responsibilities for this position include:
 

  • Providing detailed fact finding, research, and analysis on energy-related activities (particularly energy efficiency, grid modernization, renewable energy, customer programs, new business models, and sustainability)
  • Performing statistical and economic analyses by creating spreadsheet models
  • Preparing workshop and meeting materials, attending sessions, and summarizing outcomes
  • Preparing reports, presentations and other documents for client deliverables
  • Interviewing business managers, technology experts, and public policy officials
  • Presenting results of assigned tasks and analyses to clients
  • Working effectively with colleagues and client staff as part of a project team; work independently as needed.
     

What You Will Need
 

  • Bachelor’s degree (in an engineering, business, economics, environmental, science and/or related discipline) and 1-3 years of relevant industry or consulting experience excluding internships/co-ops; OR Advanced (Master’s/MBA/PhD) degree and 0-1 years of relevant industry or consulting experience excluding internships/co-ops
  • Demonstrated team player with ability to lead
  • Client service orientation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations in PowerPoint
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with data analytics
  • An inquisitive nature and desire for continuous improvement
  • Tireless attention to detail in all prior experience (academic and professional)
  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously, prioritize and plan work activities while meeting respective deadlines
  • Highly developed organizational and management skills
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to shape results into stories
  • Ability to travel as needed
