Constuction Sales Estimator

 

Description:


The Construction Sales Estimator is responsible for generating accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects while driving sales opportunities. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, sales acumen, and strong communication skills to ensure that clients receive precise estimates and exceptional service. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction estimating and a proven track record in sales.

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Estimate Preparation:
    • Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to develop detailed cost estimates.
    • Perform quantity take-offs and apply appropriate pricing for labor, materials, and equipment.
    • Prepare and submit accurate estimates within established deadlines.
  • Sales Support:
    • Collaborate with the sales team to understand client needs and project requirements.
    • Provide technical guidance and support during client meetings and presentations.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Client Interaction:
    • Present and explain estimates to clients, addressing any concerns or questions.
    • Assist in negotiating contracts and securing new business.
    • Follow up on submitted bids to close sales and gather feedback for future estimates.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination:
    • Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
    • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to confirm scope and cost accuracy.
  • Market and Competitor Analysis:
    • Stay informed on market trends, pricing, and competitor offerings to ensure estimates are competitive.
    • Identify opportunities for value engineering to offer cost-effective solutions to clients.

       

Qualifications:
 

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
    • Relevant certifications in construction estimation or sales are a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction estimation, with a focus on sales.
    • Proven experience in generating and closing sales within the construction industry.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
    • Proficient in estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and CRM tools.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
