Construction Estimator

Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team in Clermont, Florida. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating for both commercial and residential construction projects. This position involves preparing and submitting bids, negotiating with subcontractors, and managing the buyout process for awarded projects to ensure the best value and quality.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for commercial and residential construction projects.

- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.

- Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and qualifications.

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely and accurate bid submissions.

- Prepare and present bid proposals to potential clients in a professional and timely manner.

- Manage the buyout process for awarded projects, ensuring the selection of qualified subcontractors and suppliers that provide the best value and quality.

- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project scope, budget, and timelines.

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, pricing, and regulations to provide accurate and competitive estimates.

- Track and analyze project costs to ensure profitability and assist in identifying opportunities for cost savings.

- Maintain organized records of project estimates, bid documents, and contracts.

**Qualifications:**

- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator in both commercial and residential projects.

- Proven experience in preparing detailed cost estimates and bid proposals.

- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents.

- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.

- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

- Proficient in using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
