Description:
The Office of Business Services is seeking to hire a position to serve as Compliance Coordinator of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) for the Department. This position serves as second level responder to all emergency and disaster related incidents; confers with various task forces, committees, emergency response providers, etc.; develops, plans, and implements emergency response and evacuation plans and preparedness programs; confers with DoIT (Department of Innovation and Technology) to ensure integrity of electronic data storage and access; and provides policy guidance on all issues related to emergency management.
Job Responsibilities
- Serves as National Incident Management System (NIMS) Compliance Coordinator.
- Coordinates the Department’s planning, preparedness, response, and recovery for natural and man- made incidents, emergencies, and disasters.
- Establishes policy and procedures for NIMS compliance and alignment with the National Response Framework, Illinois Emergency Operations Plan (IEOP) and other state and federally mandated plans and programs related to emergency preparedness and response.
- Monitors the development, coordination and implementation of occupied facility’s security programs, staff and contracted security providers as related to safe/secure environments, environmental hazards, workplace violence prevention and response, as well as emergency planning and response.
- As NIMS Compliance Coordinator, provides oversight to ensure the collaboration between DHS Divisions and Programs and to ensure the integrity, privacy, and security of electronic and physical data.
- Serves as a working supervisor.
- Serves as secondary level liaison with the Illinois Strategic Nation Stockpile Team (SNS), the Illinois Terrorism Task Force (ITTF), and the Campus Security Task Force (CSTF).
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years college.
- Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or private organization.
