Description:
Smart community/city sales may be to investor-owned utilities, municipals, or a combination of both sold through multiple channels, direct and indirect. Your key responsibility is to drive sales through coordinating and supporting municipal and channel-served utility sales teams. This position will be responsible for strategic direction and management of channel partners, supporting and coordinating deal activities across Itron’s sales channel partners and when required direct sales teams. Responsible for coordinating cross functional engagement across core functional Itron teams in Marketing, Sales, Product Business Units, Legal, and Delivery for smart city commercial deal activities.
Duties & Responsibilities to Support Channel Partners Include:
- Responsible for sales forecasting and bookings support
- Responsible for coordinating sales with regional account managers and channel partners
- Support internal Itron sales process activities with the product business units and sales operations
- Assist in the preparation of data for staff meetings/presentations including collation of market and product data based upon history and experience
- Responsible for operational assistance if needed after deal award
- Grow the smart cities sales pipeline, close business, gain new logos utilizing channel partners
- Collaborate with delivery, software and services, marketing and other functional groups to ensure customer satisfaction, enhancing Itron’s reputation in the industry
- Leverage salesforce to track opportunities, capture relevant data and report on activity
- Represent Itron at industry events, trade conferences, and other events to develop relationships that will enhance Itron’s presence in the industry
Education: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
Requirements:
- Professional experience in Sales/Channel Partnering in a matrix and international company that sells complex solutions including Hardware, Software and Services. Prefer streetlighting sales expertise and experience with municipal utilities.

- Strong communication and executive presentation skills
- An effective team player and cross-functional contributor with strong drive for results
- Ability to lead cross functional teams and drive sales coordination needed to achieve target results
- Ability to ramp effectively and take ownership during ambiguous and time sensitive situations
- Recognize the need and determine travel plans to collaborate with partners and support customer presentations and sales negotiations. Prepare to travel up to 40% if needed.
- Strong ability to manage multiple partner relationships, while completing and monitoring tasks that make for successful programs and projects for each partner
