Communications Accessibility Specialist

 

Description:

The Communications Accessibility Specialist will play a key role to ensure the message of Paid Leave is accessible to all Minnesotans. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure documents and web content developed within Paid Leave meet state standards for accessibility, conformity and compliance. This position will also assist with language accessibility by providing administrative support for document and web translations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Administer the accessibility program within Paid Leave, providing effective and timely document accessibility execution and delivery. Demonstrate expert knowledge in accessibility standards and compliance.
  • Review and edit Paid Leave documents and web content for accessibility, conformity, and compliance to state standards.
  • Advise and assist division staff on accessibility best practices and process. Provide technical support or training on accessibility as appropriate to meet divisions goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate written language translation and verification requests to the State of Minnesota Office of Enterprise Translations and external vendors, and develop a system to track the status of translation requests.
