Chief Financial Officer

Working within basic corporate business policies and plans, our Chief Financial Officer develops financial policies and directs their implementation. In addition, the CFO determines the financial information requirements of all corporate executives; oversees the production of financial reports that provide executives and operating managers with feedback on the financial effects of their actions. A successful CFO will analyze current company business operations and future business plans and determine the financial effects of business alternatives. Our CFO will initiate and maintain relationships with accounting firms, attorneys, banks, corporate trustees, and valuation firms. In this position, the CFO will have the opportunity to develop financial strategies and arrange business financing, and act in a fiduciary capacity, maintaining accurate accounting records. The CFO will also be expected to analyze and interpret statistical and accounting data and trends.
Essential Functions:

  • Develop and establish management policies for financial control and treasury functions.
  • Lead Human Resources, Marketing, Finance and Information Technology Departments.
  • Analyze and interpret financial information pertaining to the company's performance. Make recommendations concerning business policy, resource allocation, and business operations to improve financial performance. Alert key executives and managers to trends in the financial performance of the business that may require management action.
  • Determine corporate requirements for financial analysis, planning, control, and reporting systems that adequately monitor business operation; develop appropriate systems.
  • Forecast capital requirements. Identify and analyze capital sources. Research financing working relationships with banks, financial institutions, and investment firms. Develop policies and specific plans for conducting company relations with outside financial firms. Maintain financial contracts and arrange and negotiate company financing.
  • Evaluate acquisition and divestiture opportunities and develop recommendations concerning them.
  • Develop appropriate financial organization. Establish performance standards and ensure that finance personnel are properly directed and qualified to fulfill their job responsibilities.
  • Obtain financial and legal services from outside firms. Ascertain the need for expert financial and legal assistance and obtain competent assistance.
  • Oversee the financial effects of executive compensation practices.
  • Oversee budget preparation, and audit functions.
  • Study long-range economic trends and projects company prospects for future growth in overall sales and market share, opportunities for acquisitions or expansion into new product areas. Estimates requirements for capital, land, buildings and an increase in the work force.
  • Work with outside companies regarding valuation, administration and auditing of the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
  • Oversee employee medical and benefit plans and general insurance programs.
  • Work with outside advisor and Board Committee to evaluate financial performance and expenses of 401k plan and make recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in business administration.
  • C.P.A. designation preferred.
  • Knowledge of database and accounting computer application systems to supply the most accurate financial information.
  • 8-10 years of experience in financial management with increasing responsibilities for multi-faceted direction and planning.
  • Working knowledge of 401(k) and ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plans) plans preferred.
  • Experience in acquisitions and mergers preferred.
  • Experience related to benefit, medical and general insurance programs.
  • Excellent verbal, written and electronic communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent managerial skills to coordinate a multifaceted organization.
  • Knowledge of ISO.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • PC skills including ERP, MS (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Access), and Internet/Intranet is a plus.
  • A strong ability to set and prioritize goals.
  • Ability to multi-task within a TEAM environment.
