Description:
Our client is looking for a top CFO with a background in building robust FP&A functions and debt capital markets experience in the Lending domain. They are one of the most exciting start-ups in the US Mortgage space right now and as they scale are looking to expand their strong finance function.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with overall business objectives, focusing on long-term growth and profitability in the lending market.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO, Board of Directors, and executive team to guide decision-making.
- Lead the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) process, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to monitor performance against key financial targets. This also includes growing the team out.
- Oversee capital structure management, including debt and equity financing strategies
- Lead fundraising efforts, managing relationships with banks, financial institutions, and investors to secure capital for business expansion.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, promoting a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and financial excellence.
- Work cross-functionally with product, sales, and operations teams to align financial objectives with overall business goals.
- Drive cost efficiency and profitability across the organization through financial discipline, operational improvements, and process optimization.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in financial leadership roles, with a proven track record as a CFO or senior finance executive in a lending or financial services environment.
- In-depth knowledge of lending industry dynamics, credit risk management, and financial regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, capital management, and investor relations, ideally within a fast-growing or complex lending organization. Capital Markets experience is a must have.
- Strong financial acumen, with expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale financial operations and navigate the complexities of a lending business.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- CPA or CFA designation is a plus.
