Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Chemical Advisor through 08/29/2023 at 11:59 p.m. (CST).

The Asset Integrity Chemical Advisor position will assist directly in the selection, implementation, design, monitoring, troubleshooting, optimization, leadership and performance of the chemical programs across the BU in subsurface and surface equipment applications.

The position will report to the Asset Integrity Chemical and Corrosion Team Lead.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Interfacing with Operations, Technical Teams, Leadership and other cross functional groups to implement successful and economical chemical programs aligned with the BU Chemical Management strategy.

  • Review well producing fluids and develop sub-surface and surface equipment chemical treatment programs based on findings to maintain asset integrity, reliability and flow assurance.

  • Identify areas of concern and develop corrective action plans. Participate in RCA Investigations that relate to equipment failures due to material design and/or corrosion & erosion issues.

  • The candidate will be proficient in corrosion matters and will have prime responsibility for developing and maintaining equipment chemical application corrosion mitigation strategies and prevention processes throughout the BU with the aim of promoting safe, reliable and efficient equipment operation.

  • The Chemical Advisor is responsible for identifying potential flow assurance issues and fluid characteristics changes to determine potential impact on the equipment from well bore to takeaway.

  • Ensure implementation of appropriate corrosion protection, corrosion monitoring and prevention programs are executed as prescribed.

Required Qualifications:

  • This position must possess a comprehensive understanding of the impact of produced fluids and chemical applications on various materials utilized across the oil and gas industry.

  • The position requires a strong understanding of corrosion mechanisms and damage mechanisms in subsurface and surface equipment operations.

  • The candidate will possess and demonstrate a thorough understanding of the production lift applications across the BU including free flowing, plunger lift, gas lift, jet pump, capillary string assist, compression, Electric Submersible Pumps (ESP) and rod pump.

  • This candidate will possess and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of chemical applications for all of the lift equipment and surface equipment types across the BU.

  • Must be highly proficient in processing data, leading meetings, influencing key stakeholders, routinely communicating and interpreting data, identifying and recognizing emerging trends, building executable plans, project management, simplifying complex problems and performance tracking.

  • Proficient understanding & working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, PowerBi and chemical data management software.

  • The candidate will possess excellent presentation skills.
