Core Responsibilities:

  • Project management will include, at a minimum, communication with stakeholders about project requirements, developing plans for approval, permits, assistance with the vendor selection process, procurement consultation, construction, FF&E delivery/installation oversight and close out documentation and keeping the project on budget and on schedule.
  • Provide general oversight and quality control of the services provided by the outsourced facilities management company who is responsible for building and grounds maintenance, compliance with inspections by UNLV Risk Management services, custodial services, utility plant, energy management, event setup, and manage space and equipment request for review and approval.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, including Facilities and Information Technology, to define projects and prepare necessary documents for approval. Responsible for all financial aspects of projects.
  • Determines the design and consulting team composition and delivery approach. This includes design professionals, contractor selection, and working with other entities. Prepare Invitations for Quote, coordinate with UNLV Purchasing, seek qualified vendor and contractor pool and recommend for purchase order award.
  • Provides direction to design/construction team to ensure scope, schedule, quality, and budget meet expectations through project phases. Coordinate contractor's work with campus activity, communicate with Authorities Having Jurisdiction inspectors, monitor work progress and review payment applications.
  • Providing support to any policies and procedure documentation.
  • Manage furniture inventory.
  • Providing support to third party development.
  • Updating evacuation plans, signage, and other related graphics.
  • Any updates to project management procedures, forms and related documentation, and other departmental materials within the office and online.
  • Participate with various campus committees, campus leaders, and participate in environmental health and workplace safety initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President for Campus Infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in planning, architecture, construction management, engineering, or a related discipline for an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation.
  • At least five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in facilities development and operation, including management of design and construction projects, and other activities related to the duties and responsibilities of the position. Experience with Higher Education entities is a plus.
  • Project Management experience on a variety building projects and have managed a variety of projects concurrently.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various internal and external constituents required.
  • Able to use Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and other graphic manipulative software, AutoCAD and/or related CAD software, Microsoft Visio, Bluebeam, or similar product to create and review construction plans. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (NSC does not sponsor employment-related visas).
