Description:
This position manages large, complex supplier procurement activities and cross-functional relationships ensuring best practice purchasing techniques are applied at all times. This role will be responsible for implementing and managing strategic sourcing and commodity strategies, support new product introduction (NPI) activities, and support integrated product teams in alignment with TK Elevator purchasing policies, processes, and strategy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Manage large, complex supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness targets are achieved
- Develop and agree contracts as required and manage and enforce complex contractual obligations
- Drive annual cost down and minimize supplier cost increases
- Accountable for commodity Purchase Price Variance (PPV) performance for designated commodities
- Performs inventory planning, purchasing, management and reconciliation to maintain continuity of supply
- Create and distribute Purchase Orders (PO’s) to suppliers
- Support procurement transition from new product introduction to future production by working effectively with other procurement team members and business functions
- Represent procurement on assigned New Product Introduction and Integrated Product Teams acting a liaison between these teams and the procurement team. Coordinate required procurement input and issue resolution in support of team goals
- Manage all aspects of the procurement process including quotation, in-depth quote evaluation, cross-functional sourcing, risk evaluation, negotiating, contracting, order expediting, supplier schedule maintenance/adherence, rate readiness, and other complex supplier launch activities including customer support/interaction in accordance with PSM policies, procedures, and company objectives.
- Support strategic make-versus-buy activities and cross-functional manufacturing strategy development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience using SAP Ariba, Oracle, AS400, or similar procure to pay platform
- Experience working with and leading cross-functional teams
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills with senior leadership and suppliers
Who we are looking for
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing or Finance or related field required; combination of experience and education will be considered.
- 7 or more years purchasing or supply chain experience
- Basic knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings for component parts
- Familiar with engineering change processes and bills of materials
- Robust knowledge of indirect and/or direct category market trends and global supply base
- Proven track record of developing and managing national suppliers or group purchasing organizations
- Master’s Degree preferred
- APICS certification preferred
